Lead Underwriting | Transport Insurance
After completing his apprenticeship and working in various positions at Gerling Group, including in Munich, Düsseldorf and Cologne, and studying business administration in Cologne, Rainer Koch has now been working in the field of marine insurance in the industrial sector for over 35 years.
He has headed the Underwriting/Risk Service department since Köln.Assekuranz was founded.
Lead Technology and Development
While studying for his degree in geophysics, Matthias Müller focused on natural hazards, particularly floods, earthquakes, and volcanism. He began his professional career as a freelance geoscience consultant and, together with Dr. Hans-Leo Paus, developed the first basic models on which K.A.R.L. is still based today.
He deepened his knowledge of data processing and programming during his four years as an IT consultant, while also completing a master’s degree in business administration. Matthias Müller has been working for KA Köln.Assekuranz Agentur GmbH since 2011. As head of the K.A.R.L. team, he is the right person to contact for questions about K.A.R.L. and our wide range of services.
Lead IT/BO & KA Risk Lab
Marc Schreiner has been working in the insurance and consulting industry for over two decades. After holding positions at various consulting firms, he spent many years with a large international insurance group, both in Germany and abroad. During this time, he focused intensively on strategic issues, innovation, and process improvement. Today, as Head of IT & BO, he is responsible for the digital development of KA and, together with the Risk Lab team, drives forward new approaches in risk management. Marc Schreiner lives in Cologne with his family.
Legal & Compliance Officer | Lawyer (LL.M.)
Raika Welte has been working in the insurance industry since completing her law degree in 2012, with a focus on Legal & Compliance. Her work has primarily involved cross-border insurance business. She lives in Cologne with her two daughters.
