Daniel Korth has been working in the insurance industry for over 25 years and specialized early on in transport insurance. After completing his training at Allianz in Cologne and moving to Gothaer, he earned his certification as a transport insurance specialist (DVA) in 2009. Since 2014, he has been contributing his expertise at KA Köln.Assekuranz. Privately, the native of the Eifel lives with his wife in the Rhineland and values reliability—both professionally and personally.
Lead Technology and Development
While studying for his degree in geophysics, Matthias Müller focused on natural hazards, particularly floods, earthquakes, and volcanism. He began his professional career as a freelance geoscience consultant and, together with Dr. Hans-Leo Paus, developed the first basic models on which K.A.R.L. is still based today.
He deepened his knowledge of data processing and programming during his four years as an IT consultant, while also completing a master’s degree in business administration. Matthias Müller has been working for KA Köln.Assekuranz Agentur GmbH since 2011. As head of the K.A.R.L. team, he is the right person to contact for questions about K.A.R.L. and our wide range of services.
Lead Digital & Risk Lab
Marc Schreiner has been working in the insurance and consulting industry for over two decades. After holding positions at various consulting firms, he spent many years with a large international insurance group, both in Germany and abroad. During this time, he focused intensively on strategic issues, innovation, and process improvement. Today, as Head of IT & BO, he is responsible for the digital development of KA and, together with the Risk Lab team, drives forward new approaches in risk management. Marc Schreiner lives in Cologne with his family.
Lead Finance / HR / Office Staff
Alexander Ruppel has been active in the insurance industry since 1997. After 10 years working in the areas of transport, aviation, and group accident insurance at Gerling, he was able to expand his expertise in finance, operations, and human resources within the Munich Re Group.
Team Lead Controlling and Accounting
Vanessa Pannes has been working in the insurance industry since 2014 after completing her studies in business administration. At KA, she is responsible for financial planning and analysis as well as accounting.
Legal & Compliance Officer | Lawyer (LL.M.)
Raika Welte has been working in the insurance industry since completing her law degree in 2012, with a focus on Legal & Compliance. Her work has primarily involved cross-border insurance business. She lives in Cologne with her two daughters.
Teamlead KA Risk Lab
As Senior NatCat Analyst, she is the key technical contact for our clients’ issues relating to natural hazards and climate risks. She handles complex inquiries, ensures the quality assurance of all results, and makes sure that individual requirements are implemented precisely. In addition, she coordinates the interface between analysis, sales, and customer service, looks after strategic customers, and regularly represents K.A.R.L. at specialist events. She has been part of the team since 2018—first as a working student, then as a NatCat Analyst, and now with technical responsibility as a Senior NatCat Analyst.
